Overview

Michael Lee Photography was looking to update its current website to deliver more targeted messaging to personal and business clients while also revamping its aesthetic to a more elegant design that better fit the brand.

Approach

To deliver a more targeted message to two very different client niches (families/personal and corporate), Michael Lee’s portfolio was restructured into a ‘split’ website in which users could view work relevant to them based on their selected interest. The design includes updated styles to reflect Michael’s relevancy to the industry and online presence.

Developing a unique style

Catering to both individuals and business required a targeted sensibility to both industries. How could we appeal to the young couple planning a wedding AND the business owner who needs professional shots of themselves and their work?

With both customer profiles in mind and a handful of benchmarks on the competition, a set of style scapes were created to steer the design in the right direction.

Refine, design, develop

Upon selecting a general direction for the design of the new website and developing a site map, we began refining ideas into a final design before development. How would users navigate through sections of the website? How do we implement easy call to actions and points of contact for interested viewers? How do we create a website that shines, but does not outshine the work?
