Encouragement Bookmarks
For United Way of Lake County
Overview
The Encouragement Bookmarks for United Way were a work-sponsored volunteer project that allowed me to explore a meaningful way to be playful and educational, while giving back.
The recipients of these bookmarks would be children who are working to grow their literacy skills. The goal was to create something that would motivate them to read, with bilingual messages if possible.
In order to engage and connect with young audiences, I created a set of adorable characters and accompanying copy in english and spanish to inspire these young readers. Having grown up as a child learning a second language, the bilingual messages felt special, and through them, I hope it helps a bilingual child feel included, seen and understood.
